Grenade Bag Question
Grenade Bag Question
I am looking to purchase an M24 grenade bag, but my knowlage on what is right or wrong is fairly limited. I do realise that there were bags made for the M24, but would it be alright to use a rifle grenade bag? Also I have just noticed that Spearhead has M24 grenade bags that they are claiming to be Fallschirmjäger, were these bag used just by the Fallschirmjägers or were they issued to Waffen SS and Heer as well? http://www.ebay.com/itm/WW2-German-Fall ... 2926wt_932

Re: Grenade Bag Question
Would hessian cloth bags be field made?
Re: Grenade Bag Question
They were just two sand bags tied together and worn around the neckPanzer212 wrote:Would hessian cloth bags be field made?
like the pic i showed you previously mate, nothing complicated.
I have seen other pics of this practice being done, it is very commonly seen.

Re: Grenade Bag Question
It's just that I have already purchased the zipper top bags. I wish that I would have been told this a while ago so that I could have saved some money. I will put together the type of bags that you have proposed being as it will be more accuarte for my Waffen SS impression.
Re: Grenade Bag Question
Don't forget the tape from the corners of each bag that go around your back to stop the bags flopping forwards.
Re: Grenade Bag Question
Or more usually you could have done the research before you did the buying? Easier to blame others for not telling you though?Panzer212 wrote:I wish that I would have been told this a while ago so that I could have saved some money.
Re: Grenade Bag Question

Re: Grenade Bag Question
No, I did not see anything like sandbag grenade bags. The bags that I did find I could not figure what matireial they were made of, I assumed they they may be a canvas material. Now that I know that what is correct, I thin I'll fabricate one of these hessian grenade bags.
