If you could get that to run on derv I'd be mightily impressed!

My guess would be petrol, paraffin or booze. I've run mine on potent vodka with no issue.

Lighter fuel is just naphtha, a light hydrocarbon. No reason not to use paraffin or petrol as a substitute. They might be bit smokey?
You wont light derv with a spark.

Derv - Petrol - what is the matter with you? just walk into the corner shop and buy a tin of lighter fuel! A snip at £1.25.
