gun

Post by jackjones1 »

Hi, i know this topic has already been covered but as a new comer i am still very much confused, so i am throwing this question out
to the older and much more knowledgeable and hope that you might be able to put it straight and help me. I am looking a K98 live fire
to fire blanks at shows, simple as that (or so i thought). Thats all i am looking to do is fire blanks at the shows and add a bit of realism to the battles. The problem is when i was asking about getting a weapon i was to the rounds where about 40 - 50p each but then talking to another guy standing beside me when i was having this conversation said that you can get the guns converted to different rounds which where cheaper. When i mentioned this to another re-inactor he told me that they sound shit (oops sorry) and they take away from the authintic battle noise and realism because of lesser bang (that might not be the right word) so i was hoping that someone could fill me in on the right route to go down before i splash out on the gun licence and the gun. As many people have said in the forum before "buy once, buy right". Much appreciated to all members for taking the time to read this and all replies will be taken on board. Im just another newbe trying to find my feet.
Thanks

7.92 are louder than 7.62. The price of blanks is about £50-£55 for 100. When you apply for your licence ask for both 7.62 and 7.92. The price of 7.92 98k Mauser is about the same as a 7.62. Worth while getting both if you can afford it.

7.92 is the original bore of a k98 7.62 tends to be converted or other nations who have contracts on the gun. 7. 62 is generally cheaper as I believe there are three main types of rounds. 7.92 as said previous has moved up too £50-55 a 100. It's a good investment.

Try http://www.cgfirearms.co.uk/Default.aspx he's a good supplier I brought from him. He has a great selection more than what's on site so email him and ask. He specialise in redoing rifles and scopes. I will say though the 7.62 are harder to get hold of at the moment. So you may have to hunt around. But if you decide to go down the live route, defe get your license sorted before u really look for a rifle as it will only disappoint you if you find one now and not till another 2 months until ure licence is done. (personal experience lol) He also does ammo his link to that page http://www.ammo-zone.co.uk/

Hope this helps
