proof of large dot pattern variant?

Post by labrador »

Hello,

I know this has been discussed to death but i recently came across this page showing larger than usual dots. the colors on the ant-z dot pattern tunic are still off to my eye but the pattern looks pretty close. Not trying to start a war here, just after your opinions.

Thanks in advance.

I dont think the dots are larger than normal, I think the tunic is a very small size.
If you care to compare the dot size with a known constant, the buttons perhaps, you can see that the buttons on this tunic do not seem small next to the dots? If anything the buttons look large in comparison to the jacket as a whole. That is why I think it may be quite a small tunic.
Look at the Ant-Z version and see how the buttons are dwarfed by the size of the dots?
There are plenty of variations in the printing of the dot pattern in original uniforms and preserved cloth. Not all are the same size or colour, some dot versions have 'wavy' edges, some are more smooth. Just never seen one as large as Ant-Z......yet.
Good spot though.
