POW card/tag

Post by Sean »

Does anyone have clear photos of the tag's German POW's wore while being transported to the rear? I've seen photos (which aren't the best) and they look to be bits of card with a string attached, but it's the details on the card I'm after.

Anyone able to help?

Cheers,

Sean

Hi Sean.
In the book Loyalty is my Honour by gordon williamson,is a copy of Fred Walkers pow tag(Fredrich Karl Wacker).He was captured by an American unit in Italy.
It looks like a large luggage label:-
PRISONER OF WAR
Date of capture________________________________________

Place(or sector)of capture________________________________

______________________________________________________

Unit making capture______________________________________

signedSS=Stmn Wacker,Fredrich-Karl.(over)
______________________________________________________________________________
Pm your email address and I'll try and send the picture,but the above is how it is laid out.
