Looking to putting my ss stug impression together for evening entertainment, have the wrapper and trousers what else do i need. The rank is just enlisted man. What footwear and headwear did they wear?

M43 Einheitsfeldmutze
Can also wear M38 feldmutze. Occasionally a black one would be seen if a man had been in Panzers previously. it is actually a nice touch.
You can destud your boots or even put stick on rubber soles on them.......
Drastic but if you get a pair of standard marschtiefel and cut them down by a third...... that is the classic knobelbecher. I have actually yet to see anyone wear these boots.....
