Just wanted to put this question out as i did a search on the boards and not much came up matching my question.
What boots do you guys get for putting together an officer uniform? Riding boots? I'm putting together a west german uniform just for my own collection, not for living history. And i'm really finding it hard to know what to get. Riding boots seem like the closest things to what is worn..But man they seem pricey.
Cheers
James

Re: Officer parade boots
Thanks mate, was pretty surprised at the lack of responce on this topic as i've not seen it discussed recently. It's probably been covered already and i've just not searched properly through the back posts
Keeping on topic, there are a lot of riding boots to choose from. I've noticed in a lot of WWII photo's the german officer boot, seems to have a strap across the top of the leg. While i've also seen a lot wearing what looks closely like a Russian high boot. Not as shiny and smooth as the German, more creased and crumpled.
