Y straps etc

Post by bilko »

Guys,
I've aquired some leather "y" straps/suspenders.

The first set are not complete and are missing the back strap and the front D rings and the shoulder rings, there dated 1940.
The question is are the parts out there to DO them up?repro or original with out having to aquire another set.

The other set don't have the O shape ring joining the 3 parts together but a triangular shape, there black with ruff side out and same configuration are the other set[if they were complete]just they look like there may have been padded but this is removed, also the shoulder rings are one round and one square with a rivet holding them in place.
Are these post ww2?
Would post pics but i don't know how to

Cheers.

Dave.

You have a pair of Austrian Rucksack Straps..... The triangular back connector gives it away as does the holes where the padding has been removed - Good sturdy straps though...... Did you pay a lot for them?

Without rubbing the salt in still further you could have picked up a decent set of original or repro at the same or a lttle less.

But this is a good idea you have their a kit section, what about it Kit Gurus something I have not seen on any other forum.
