MG34 Tripod assembly

Post by Pug42 »

Rather stupidly (I now realise!) I took apart an MG34 Dreibein AA tripod to strip off all the yucky Yugo paint and refinish it properly.

Job done, parts look great... but I just cannot get the legs and springs back in with the tension running the correct way. :(

Several people have had a go, including Jakob from Czech Republic and he gave up after about an hour... mind you he'd had a bit to drink the night before!

Any mechanical geniuses out there with maybe some sort of clever tool for doing this?

I'll be at Swynners so could bring the parts if anyone could help??
