KG Sud 2008..well done lads!

Post by Rosselsprung »

Hi all,
Just a few words to say well done to KG sud and friends for putting in what must have
been their busiest year yet. Heard good reports and had good fortune to see the larger
KGS/Wargroup organisation in action a few times. Training weekends, photo shoots,The Irish vintage society national show which featured a WW2 battle,a large jointKGS/Wargroup display at the Salute show,
putting on the annual Duncannon show which featured a great ww2 public battle re enactment
(good to see the LAH battling on despite the eastern front type downpour!)followed by
a very succesful road trip to Normandy with the para section doing great work at the Dead
mans corner event. Then a detachment sent to Germany to take part in the Last Witness film,
followed by another group headed up to the Nortern front in Finland to undergo Stug and PAK training ,and finally a training weekend with the 222 and new truck taking to the field.
Again well done, looking forward to seeing what the next season brings from
KGS. Tough at the top lads, but looks like theres no one else around able to challenge your clubs occupation of it, or come near it !

Nice compliment to a very active and well-organised group. Good mix of talent, military vehicle enthusiasts, excellent mechanics, army and ex-army personnel with command experience, some guys who just want to reenact, includes young and old and held together by Joe, Justin and Noel.

Considering they draw their members from a population of 3.5 million (size of Bermingham?) they can only go from strength to strength.

Understand they are 'expecting' again, eagerly awaited is delivery of their very own '44 Opel Blitz, a real 'war machine'!

it will be great to see the blitz what a compliment to the club that will be the mechanics will have alot more to do with the vast array of vehicles in the club as with anything like that keeping them well maintained and not breaking down weather on the road or at an event it just shows the good organisational skills of the club as it can only add to the professionalism of a club like KG sud.

well done guys
