BAttlegroup south in Normandy for 2007

Post by rommel »

Kampfgruppe sud / Battlegroup south went to Normandy for the D Day week following our show in Duncannon ,Co Wexford . The club took its vehicles and 13 members to the beaches and war memorials and many sites over there . We landed in Cherbourg and returned via Roscoff , an epic journey for vehicles so old , bikes , Kubels and a truck . All performed perfectly on the long haul across France . Here is a link to the photos of the trip

Hi Pzrwest , glad to see that you enjoyed some of the photos of our trip to Normandy .We hope to post more in due course , this was a trip of a life time especially with all the vehicles and uniforms .We had the pleasure and honour to meet some Allied vets and German vets ( one LAH & one HJ ) .To see the delight on the Germans faces was worth the trip alone. It is also nice to see that there is also more to reenacting than just mock battles. Next years trip is already in the planning , with either Holland , Italy or France waiting to be liberated .If other clubs are planning a trip to any of these please let us know .
