I have cleaned up this thread. Please do not post any hearsay on what may or may not be allowed at this event. If you have any information which you feel may be of interest to the organisers of the dead mans corner display, please use the PM function and let them know.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Well done Baggy Pants , thanks for cleaning up this topic .We will be there no matter what , looking forward to seeing all the FJ guys there , not long to go now.
Re: Dead Man's Corner - Normandy
Despite the tight restrictions of the French Police the event was a complete success. Thanks to everyone who attended, dug in and manned the display.
Veterans from the 101st and FJR6 as well as the local press all gave us a big thumbs up and their support for what we were doing. Also, a big thanks to Justin and Joe, Battle Group South, for introducing us to the FJR6 and 12th SS Veterans, it goes without saying that it was a great privilege to meet them and sing 'Rot Scheint die Sonne' with them.
Photos will be uploaded onto the event website as and when I receive them, so if you have any email them to me, or post them here.
Gluck ab!

Re: Dead Man's Corner - Normandy
I was able to make a quick stop at DMC , just as the veterans were arriving - a good turn out awaited them and an even bigger and better set up than last year.
Took some photos - when a PC conflict is sorted I will post them on.
My stop was very brief as a rather packed day was planned and I was but one of a party.
As a visitor to the the event just want to say thanks to all who put on such a good display - the amount of "digging in alone" spoke for itself, lots of sore backs there.
I would include in this thanks BGS members for their part in taking vets. to the field , if forty five minutes could have been stretched longer I would have.

Re: Dead Man's Corner - Normandy
As Darren has mentioned, the event was very successful. Mainly, because everyone involved did their part. Not once did i have to chase anyone to do what was required of them.On that note, apologies to all of you if i was a pain in the 'arris.I developed a few grey hairs over the past week through stress..!
Unfortunately, there were a a few problems with the authorities regarding the wearing of german uniforms. The situation now being that a new legislation has been passed banning them in all forms. You face being arrested if caught. I know this to be a fact, as the Chief of Police discussed this with me. So, please be careful if you are travelling to the region with Axis uniforms. To add to this, even US reenactors were being detained. One instance saw a jeep convoy being stopped as a passenger had his leg hanging out of the vehicle. They are intending on clamping down on the "cavalier" attitude of the majority of visitors during this period. They say there is no respect for the soldiers.
This explains why there were tents in and around the US section of the display. This was not how i envisaged things, but, what can you do when the local group has been kicked from their display and then invited onto yours, by the owner....
Anyway, i cannot thank all involved enough for the input, and, total devotion shown and given to this event.
Thank you.
Manny
PS Next years event, if given the go-ahead, is already in the early planning stages!
