Had he lived he would quite rightly have been hanged, for the murders at Oradour sur Glane.

True Mike, not just the event at DMC, a class gig, but the whole of the trip. We all learned a lot that June.

Wish I was there now!

Guys, really sorry for that pic of me in US kit    Had to go in "disguise" so i could potentially recce the site for next time.....!

Yep, it was a total no-goer as far as the Fj portrayal was concerned. This year was just too high profile for M. De Trez to risk upsetting anyone.

The display MAY happen again, i'm always asking. But, nothing is certain for now. :(

I think the Shermans were based at the "Overlord" encampment just along the road a little from DMC. As for the FAMO etc i'd no idea. :?

That scarf DOES see a lot of use! Ha!

The FAMO belongs to Michel Leloup at the August 1944 Museum in Falaise...

http://www.normandie-museeaout44.com

A badly lit and rather cramped museum with some really quite remarkable exhibits... PzIV, Kfz 251, Kfz 250 Neu, Kettenkrad, Schwimmer, Borgward BIV, 88 etc but also lots of smaller equipment and field gear... and a lot of interesting 'rust' in the back lot..

As I took the photo Manny was explaining to an American lady the battle which had unfolded around the area , I too would like to see the Fj able to return to DMC.
Unfortunately one of those situations were the thoughtless antics of a few have reflected and rebounded on those who do not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath.

The Big Famo - very impressive , hopefully will see her again next year. ( Fingers crossed).
