Well, the press can't tell their SS from Luftwaffe.

It was Haworth's event, their rules. If they don't want "Nazi or SS Insignia or uniforms on their premises" then so be it.

I don't recognise any of these guy's so I can't ask them their take on the event.

There are plenty of high quality WW2 themed events around the country that allow axis reenactors. I would suggest stick to the events where Heer, SS, Luftwaffe and Kreigsmarine are welcome.

Regards,

Gary.

This made it into the Telegraph too ( I like the " TORY LOONS " under the pictures  ) - usual bunch of promenaders , the organisers said they didn't mind German soldiers , it was " SS and Nazis " they took exception to - but as you say Jaws , they don't know their SS from their Heer

Its the fact that the farb pillocks pose for the photos that amazes me.
What do I think about Germans at a home front event? The only ones that would have been in UK in the mid 40s would be POW.
There are no shortage of events these days where all flavours of German re-enacting are welcome. To try to gatecrash when you are not really welcome speaks volumes.

And they probably came to the conclusion that the death heads on the Panzer uniform was probably for the SS....you know, when one thinks of SS they think of skulls...
