Just a thought, anyone who has a caravan or requires plastic camping could you please let me know. I have to book in places in the re-enactors car parking area.
Thank you

Looking forward to it mate as I know the rest of the boys are.
Got a nice stug impression for it - bit spangly at the mo but I'm sure ill find another stream to fall in pissed up to muddy it up!
May have to put me down for plastic camp as car has died which had sucked up my zelt money unless the big tent will be there.

Ok no problem, however we may have room in group tents etc... bring your plastic and we`ll make a decision on site.

Help please...
just been informed that all fires have to be `off` the ground. so if anyone has any kind of equipment that we could use in order to prepare 70 breakfasts I would be grateful. Any suggestions greatfully accepted.

Second request, if anyone has large tables that we could use to put display items on ie. medical equipment, radios etc etc. even good quality pasting tables with a sheet thrown over.

Thank you

Graham, life saver with regards to the tables. We do get wood logs supplied but kindling is always useful. If you can fit any firewood in I`m sure it will get used.

Matt, you are da` man. Louise and I have picked up a few bits for your field kitchen. Car boot sales are so useful.

WARNING ORDERS

Chalke Valley History Festival
LOCATION - Eden Field, Manor Farm, Ebbesbourne Wake, near Salisbury, Wiltshire SP5 5JH

DATE 29/30th june 2013

ARRIVAL TIME. Anytime from thursday evening (27th) and the latest will be 0800 on saturday 29th june. We open the doors at 10am and finish at 6pm on both days. COULD EVERYONE BOOK IN WITH ME ON ARRIVAL PLEASE AND I WILL ASIGN YOU AN AREA TO SET UP.

PARKING. Once all kit and displays are unloaded we have a dedicated re-enactors carpark. Caravans and plastic tents can be set up within this car park.

SECURITY. Valuable equipment and weapons can be stored at night in vehicles parked on the display. We have no ropes so the public wander through so obviously be observant but the public there are very respectful and we had no problems last year.

EVENING. Although we finish at 6pm, the public are still around in the lectures until 10pm so if we go near the marquees we must be quiet. We are fine to visit the fantastic beer tent or socialise around the display.

FOOD. we will be cooking all weekend for our display. We have a field kitchen and a team manning it. Any help from anyone would be welcomed even if its peeling some spuds for half an hour.

LEAVING THE DISPLAY. Obviously there are many interesting attractions at this event, we will all want/need a break so We will take it in turns to have a wander. I will assign section leaders who can give their section time off display. We need to have displays manned at all times so this is the fairest way.
Please feel free when wandering around to stay in character and interact with the public.

MORNING MEETINGS. I will be having a meeting with the organisers at 9am on sat/sun, I will then have a second meeting with you all each day to relay any information.

Hopefully by now most people should have my mobile number so if in doubt call me please.
This mixed Allied/Axis WW2 display has never been done before so with all your help I hope to make this a benchmark for the future.
I thank you all in advance for your help and support with this event. I have talked your ears off on how good this event is and together we will have a fantastic weekend and at the end I hope you agree with my passion for this event, the organisers, staff and the attending public.
Latest news, 95% of the lectures have been pre-booked, plus over 200 family tickets have been sold online. Thats without public that pay on the door. An overflow carpark has been created to cope with a record crowd this year. Expect to be very busy.
