Just had a call from Matt the organiser. Health and Safety have issued a notice and cancelled his event this weekend. Fest of Forties is off.
I'm gutted for the poor man.

Piper i doubt Stig will be available much the next week or so mate, so far as i am aware this is NOT the twinwoods event.
Website for more info. http://www.1940sfest.org/
Reads as follows.
Due to the bad weather,
the Health and Safety Executive
has cancelled this weekend's event.
Please accept our apologies and
thank you for your continued support.
More details to follow.....
What this means in effect i assume is that the HSE went to the site and seeing the ground conditions and the planned scenarios which i assume included heavy and to there mind potentualy dangerous vehicles served the event organisers with a closure notice for the weekend.
And yes they can do this to anyone any event any place anytime, these people ARE very powerfull they hold a warrant which enables them to enter ANY place of work or entertainment etc any time and for you to refuse them is a crimminal offence, likewise to not cooperate with them by not answering questions or ignoring there notices is also a crimminal offence (and unlike many others the dont need a copper to do it). When i say they can entere anywhere i do mean anywhere including MOD establishments and the like.
By the way local council H and S inspectors have very similar powers.
