nene valley railway

Post by les hearn »

nene valley railway

as of today i have been informed that

the 39-45 soceity
will not be involved with the runnning of this show
we as a soceity have taken the decision that after four years of moving this show forward to its present state
as in "the most successfull show of it kind on the railway"
we have been replaced by a profit making entity
we moved this show forward to its present state ..for a pure railway profit
but as after the 2010 event one of the main events organisers that was employed at the railway was asked to leave ..(within the rights of the railway) we aggree
we feel it has now moved away from what we reenactors where working for
but due to the show taking a new turn that seems to be away from reenactors ...we feel it time to move on to other pastures and help build another show up.

this was done entirely behind the backs of the 39-45 society...we only found out ourselfs by finding the website
im saddened that the present railway staff did not contact us as a society to tell us we where not involved with the organising of the 2011 show.

we will be in contact with the new organisers in the new year
i wish the new organisers good luck in the future show and make it work for the nene valley railway .

A great shame, I thought something was up as Ive had a couple of emails off the new organiser. Brilliant show this year, looks like the next show will be more theatrical than realistic :? :?

Don't you just hate those shows that are theatrical rather than realistic? I mean................ no one dies, no one loses limbs, no houses get shelled, trains derailed - they're shit!

will say from a personal point of view
i havent got a clue where reenactors will display
the main area has now been taken up by the tent
we where moved off the display areas in the last two years ..so couldnt do any main kit displays ...and i had a distinct impresion by some walk on mops we where not wanted.

but that is my view .

but if the new organisers can do better ..good luck to em

I was thinking about breeding lice specially for the realistic events - They would be free to our members but non members would have to pay £5.00 a tub.

The fun you could have!

I enquired about crabs but the breeding process would be a touch inconvenient - I have a busy social schedule......
