"Tankfest 2011" Bovington Announcement

Post by FMROMMEL »

Announcement

As you are aware we in the WW2LHA have been involved in Tankfest at Bovington Tank Museum for the past 6 very successful years, and we were going to be organising the Living History and Battle for Tankfest 2011.
We had been asked to put together a proposal for 2011, of which several of you and your groups were a part of.
In doing so we had allocated funds to groups to help with their costs and displays.
However it has become clear to us that what the Museums Management Team wants for 2011 is not something we in the WW2LHA are willing to be involved with,
We felt the location of the Living History displays were unsuitable and would be surrounded by modern clutter, tea towel sellers and with other issues including the Tiger being unavailable again, made the event for 2011 much less then it has been in the past.

We have therefore withdrawn from this event in 2011, and will be at an event the same weekend that will benefit Help for Hero’s and the Royal British legion instead.

I thank you for you support in the past and I hope they will see sense for 2012 and return to the proper Tankfest.

Regards

Wayne Roff
WW2LHA Secretary
