Cheers, David. He needs to be in touch with John Oxlade, as mentioned in PDs post above.

Can I be the first to say thanks to PD, Bryn, Stig, Karl and ALL of the pyro team / battle planners for the amazing opportunity to be safe amongst such an epic scene of the Victory show battles.
Truly something quite spectacular ...

plus the sight of that white van seemingly taken out by one of the biggies was something :D

Very much appreciate the minite silence requested by Paul ......its all in the timing !

Thanks to N44 for their hospitality and to all of the finest bunch of re-enactors I could imagine.

Fantastic show all round, heres to more of them. Although I missed the battles whilst guarding our display the amount of dust, mud and ash that fell on me was pretty incredible so it must have been awesome out there.

Well, having spent all day yesterday sorting out my gear and washing stuff (some of it twice), I'm about done.

From the pyro side of things, it went superbly with very few hiccups, and most importantly it went off safely. Many thanks go out to my team in the battlefield. Emma Busby, who was 2IC in there, Richard busby, Karl Walls, Geoff Woods and Glenn Parry, plus PD and Stig for taking time out of their own strafing run job (which was superb), and helping wire up the vehicle effects, setting off remote charges and marshalling you all around the field. Also thank you to Nick Lewis for the huge explosions over the road, and the Garrison for manning the three 25 pounders on the hill. It was a lot of hard work, but it all looked good. Many thanks to "Sniper" Nick for blowing himself up at the end of each day. Thanks also to Glen Swallow and the SBG lads, Jon Phillips and "Floppy" Simon, big H and the other vehicle owners who allowed us to blow the crap out of their armour. The ground troops involved deserve a huge round of applause for the manner in which they worked the field and trenches. Thanks also go out to Dave Pratt and Steve Pepper for the work they put into the whole show. Total success!!

The only bitching I have to add is that, if vehicles are told they can go no further than a certain point, they bloody well shouldn't. Myself, Glenn and Richy had to spend two extra hours in the field on the saturday just to repair the lines destroyed by the Sherman, whose driver was presumably having a beer and some tea, whilst bigging up how special his vehicle was at the time. Thanks, mate  Briefings are there for a reason. Most people listened, but obviously some didn't. It'll be different next time.

Overall, I am incredibly proud of how all the hard work (about 150 man hours over three days) came together with the help of the re-enactors and vehicles. It is by far the biggest and best thing we've ever put together, and I'm f***ed if I know where the hell to go with it next year.

Finally, my congratulations to the Wiltshires, who won the Dave "Bilko" Wild trophy for best display on their very first Victory Show. I don't think they understood it when they were presented with the trophy by Steve Pepper and Dave Pratt, but what worthy winners. Well done lads! :)

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to the Officers’ of the German High Command, Big H and many other Axis reenactors for my girlfriend whom wrapped herself around, stroked, fed icecream to or generally just flirted with… to ‘Stefan’ and James…. What can I say…..!

Guys it was the uniforms… you are not that good looking….

Big H… well she spent an hour looking at your facebook page… slim down a bit and give the rest of us a chance…

Think I’ll leave her at home next time….

You can now pre-order the Official Video which from the rushes is promising to be the best event video yet - Which really is what we'd expect from what everyone is calling the best WWII event to date.....
http://www.sinvision.co.uk/VicShowDVD.html
is the direct address - This guy had up to 12 cameras out and about and we allowed 8 of them onto the battlefield so there ought to be something good on there.
He also produced a video in 2009 and the trailer is rather lush....

If you were there and want to see yourself in the battle - I'd guess this will be your best bet.
Plus you will get to see all the bits you missed!

well i can only echo what has already been said.
the victory show must be THE best event 2011.
it was good to see friends old and new.the field and its layout just gets better and better, nice blend of traders and foodstalls without getting too over commercialised. the living history field is a real credit to true re enactment with the entire space FILLED with quality displays, scenarios and equipment..not an inch wasted, the woodland\jungle encampments looked spectacular too and added more to the show.
the gd trench and farmhouse was brilliant giving a walkthrough and hands on for the mops.
i had a friend from work visit sunday and he has not shut up talking about it..he was utterly amazed by everything.
the battle....a big big thanks goes out tothe planning team and pyro\effects .this battle HAD to BE THE BEST EVER. lots of effects, vehicles and movement. i could almost see the pak roundsflying through the air into the adjacent hillside..some amazing pyro..and bloody hard work too. everyone on the fieldwas so professional witha good balance of tactics aand acting gave a memorable performance to which i have never seen or taken part in before.
roll on 2012

congratulations goes out to everyone who took part

Just a quick post from a complete newbie to your forum, (my first ) we were invited to attend and display our model aircraft alongside the full size, a huge thankyou to all at Victory show, the sheer size of the event left us boggled, and we are allready planning a full weekend and many more aircraft for next year, we are planning to bring a full compliment of WW2 aircraft to fly being built this winter are spitfire,FW190, me109, Raiden and a Corsair to name just a few, so cant wait,

here is a question for anyone who can help, a couple of guys from a German paratroop group i think, they had a very impressive derelict building diarama set up on far side of field from us, they came and spoke at length with us about things WW1 related and we were going to get some contact details from them at the end of the day, but it took us so long to pack away that when we remembered and went over we could not find them, does anyone know the name of the group at all.

thanks all and congrats to the organisers this was epic

Made by David Wilton - Propagandakompanie.
Several segments evoke the zeitgeist - The soldier at 58secs rubbing his head, Jack Burtonwood in the 222 watching the Pak Fire half a mile into the next field, The MG crew in front of the burning 222 and the SPW segments - Some truly amazing images.

Finally we have a generation of re-enactors some of whom can actually achieve the salty look and make it believeable.

I am so proud of my contribution to this show. I am so proud of my team's contribution to this show and I am so proud of the re-enactors contribution to this show.

Work with me in 2012 and I promise you even better.

When you think of what we had as a 'Kampfgruppe' you have to wonder how we lost

Nice vid though - love the filming of the SPW moving on the right flank.
