The Stahlelm covered in frost sums it up for me along with the schutzenloch full of straw and equipment. Men at the end of the war literally, dug, lived, fought died and were buried in holes like those.......... Having, like one or two on here excavated what are now depressions in some woodland floor and found bits of leather and spent rounds along with tatters of blanket or zelt..... seeing a freshly dug one now makes the picture in my mind complete - Living History.........

Great weekend, very cold, everything froze (zelts, water, boots!!!). But period living in the field was the best. Never made a fire that gave no heat before :lol: Here's a few pics

Dave has obvious talent there. The music chosen is perfect. The images are sombre and it really evokes the event for me. Well done.
