Private Tactical event April 17th 18th 2010 Pip Pk
Re: Private Tactical event April 17th 18th 2010 Pip Pk
This was the best event (private or public) that I have taken part in for ages, just when I thought my interest in the hobby was becoming a bit stale it has been revived, thanks to all the groups and individuals that were there and made it work. To be able to rag my DKW about and actualy be of use to the scenario was great, even if I did have a few minor mechanical problems.
Thanks to all. Whens the next one Pete?

The same for me. Was truly a great event. It really captured a good admosphere, had a awesome terrain and had great groups and people attending. We're looking forward for the next time!

I agree, it was the details like the dispatch riders and field kitchen that revived my faith in the hobby.
For instance, a patrol located a Brit position dug in from where they were sending probing patrols from. Orders were sent out to push back the patrol who had to withdraw into the mortar fire...this is something we are going to develop further with map references at future Pip battles, so that when it next happens that Brit position will have remove lids and pull back.

Hanging up my Knochensack for now, it's been a good war!

Watcha...
Promise to post up some pics soon, cant say there be great..
Must say that I think John Oxlade and Steve Iles do a great job up at HUTD, they worked right up till 23.00hrs Friday processing people so that by Sat 07.30hrs all bar x4 29TH Inf were off and away into the Ops area ... not great conditions up there as anyone who used to loos will know!...Glad everyone had a good time, wel done Earle, you saved us a couple of times from being taken out!.

Earle mate, I was perched up on the hill where our HQ was and could see you bobbing about the place defending well, because we were so low on allies they were out patrolling mopst of the time we were down to the two FOPs and you defending the HQ area!..

What else can I add ?
The BEST private battle I have attended. Thanks to Pete (you were only 10 minutes up the road from where I live !!) and to the like of Darren et al who co organised the event!
Good to see so many groups working in unison, especially happy to "rescue" the Dutch lads on the Saturday evening.
Ta as well to Matt & co for the grub. Well done fellas !!!
This event shows what happens when old faces meet new ones - Keep it going forward !!

Hi all, glad you enjoyed it, I was having doubts when we had such a low turn out from Allied renactors however the guys who did come worked their bollocks off to keep you lot amused!...no shot calling plenty of fair trade going about and good will.. great to see such professional reenactors.Honestly the allies were chinned by the end.
