FORTRESS WALES 2010

2nd and 3rd May 2010
Take a step back in time…..multi period living history and military vehicle weekend set in the wonderful grounds of Margam Country Park
Re-enactment/Living History groups, Military vehicles area, Main Arena,
Re-enactment camps, Walking re-enactors, Catering area, Trade stands, Craft Fair

Camping available from 30th April-4th May
Set up day 1st May
Show open to public 2nd and 3rd May

Beer Tent and Evening Entertainment, Go Ape Adventure on site,
Evening Paranormal Tours by arrangement
Raising funds for Shelter Cymru, Welsh homeless charity.

Please either email/phone WENDY or BUCK for more information or to request a application form. All aspects of history are allowed. Except for Allgemeine uniforms. All application forms need to be sent with a copy of your PLI and risk assessment documents

To take part in the WW2 Battle you must speak to Paul Sidney (Handsome) of The South Wales Borderers No Norman Wisdoms on the day please. If you are not on the list or do not turn up for the battle breifing and get a pass you do not battle. Health and Safety will be followed to the letter.

Military Vehicle Owners all era’s or 1930`s - 40`s Classic Car/Vehicle owners.
Please either email/phone BUCK for more information or to request an application form. A £7.50 donation cheque made out to Shelter Cymru is requested with all owner applications.

Sellers and Traders
Please email/phone Allison for more information or to request an application form. A donation cheque made out to Shelter Cymru is required with all trade/sellers application forms for the sum of £30.00. Also PLI and risk assessment documents requested with application form

... know the area well,..... just behind our display,... excellent choice , a brilliant landscape to battle upon with full view for the public from the road. :mrgreen:

Just a update on the entertaiment side

On SATURDAY night starting at 7pm we will be having a gudied Ghosthunt through the castle.
(If you want to take part you must let me now we are having 3 trips through the evening and only about 90 people can go)

Also on Saturday night we will be having Karoke of sorts

Sunday will see us having a DISCO same as last year but will finish at about 1am.

The beer tent will be on sitefrom Saturday onwards
Food will also be on site from Saturday hog man has promised not to run low this year.

Battle of Britain FLYPAST

Both days….2nd at 16:30

3rd at 14:00

Likely to be either flypast which lasts for 5 mins or a display which lasts for 15 minutes…which it is will be confirmed when they get flight details….

It will be the Lancaster , Hurricane and spitfires. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had to cancel Helen Vickers as section 5 for the WW2 Battle

But have now got the new man on the block to attend same as before as long as he has 20 hire`s of guns he will attend

i will post all details tomorrow

we have decided to give everyone till the 17th April to get in touch with him if he has not had 20 bookings by then he will pull out

Rent-A-Gun weapon Hire.
Terms and conditions.

1. History in the Making Ltd (HITM) also known as rent-A-Gun are the legal owners of all weapons on hire. All weapons remain the property of HITM.
2. Weapons may only be hired for use in conjunction with a pre-arranged arena performance, under the control of a recognised Living History Association.
3. All hire applications must be received and processed prior to the event/show date. All payments must be made prior to issue of weapons.
4. The hirer is responsible for the safe use of any weapon on hire. HITM will not accept any responsibility and is not liable for any damage to property or injury to any person, including the hirer, arising from improper or negligent use of weapon.
5. Damage or loss of any part of weapon will be charged to the hirer at current market rate.
6. The hired weapons are under the legal control of HITM and must be surrendered back to the company on demand.
7. Our weapons are to be used in conjunction with our own stock of blanks (or exactly the same make). No other blanks may be used in our weapons. This could result in damage to weapon and injury to hirer.
8. It is not permitted, unless by prior arrangement, for any of our weapons to be disassembled by any persons other than a servant of the company.
9. HITM will not tolerate any contravention of the Firearms act and are duty bound to report any misdemeanour to the local firearms authority.
10. HITM reserve the right to refuse hire to any individual or group.
11. The depreciating hire charge will only apply on multi-day performances. First day of hire is always the highest figure paid followed by the day 2 rate, followed by the day 3 rate. The 4th and any subsequently days will be charged at day 3 rate.
12. HITM reserve the right to change terms and conditions at any time.
