Combined Ops, Headcorn Aerodrome 15th & 16th August 2009.

Post by Schäfer »

Did anyone go to the above show at the weekend? I participated on Saturday and saw a number of friends and other well-known members of the re-enactment community.

Apparently it was the first show of its type at that location and has great potential for the future.

Hi Mike,

That was a shame, although I guess Herne Bay was probably also nice at the weekend.

I only have 2 pics and they are both of me in DAK gear, I'm afraid (I'll add just the one below.) My usual Kriegsberichterin stayed at home on this occasion as she had too much to do elsewhere.

It was only the second time I've managed to wear it, the first being at Beltring two years ago (Uniform items by SOF, awards and insignia by Morigi, applied by Richard Underwood.)

Incidentally, the £100 DAK boots currently being sold by SOF are the best. Try to avoid the Czech boots for £50, they are quite cheap and nasty.

Anyone fancy starting a DAK group? lol!

Do'nt see why not, several tons of builders sand got to be cheaper than a 'conning tower' (not as good though)

Some from StahlKrieger attended. I must say what an excellent event It was - The atmosphere was great, the German forces accepted, the battle well organised - AWESOME on the Sunday. Every effort was made to encompass all those taking part, a great job on the organisers.
This is a show to watch out for, loads of potential in it. Well worth attending.....
To our little group - Thanks, had a FUN time, and to those that lent a hand - Cheers Kev for manning the PZ III, jon for laying on the hardware, Tim for his wires n` stuff and lastly Tom, great to have you onboard for the two days and the use of the Zundapp. (Well done to the Missus too !!).
Will post some photos up when I resize them !
:D :D :D

Malcolm Dunlop was the organiser, and a very nice, personable and helpful chap he was too.
