The second SARA Training/Battle Weekend 25/26/27th Sept 2009

Post by mick.wilson »

We are looking for more German groups to attend this small event, if any of you boys are interested?
Up to you how you use the weekend, training, drill or battles.

This is the second 'SARA' training/battle weekend, 65 acres of private land
close to the M3 junction 5 (Odiham area). There are 3 large fields
all with good cover, hedgerow, ditches and drivable tracks running all over
the place (with lots of mud to get stuck in), there are also some wooded areas.
We will put the cinema on in the evenings, there is a large barn if the weather gets bad.

Weapons hire is available by booking with John Oxlade but only if booked in advance, people will have to contact him first with what thay want so he can bring them with him.

Cost is £5 per head (to pay for the porterloos), bring your own food and beer but the Clubmobile will be there for tea and coffee's.

PM or email me if your interested.

Message from the Allied Commanding Officer "Capt Dave Allaway 101st Screaming Eagles"
Capt Dave 101st Screaming Eagles wrote:Time for an update on the training weekend.

Sorry to say that the site fee has to increase to £7.00 per head, the portaloo's themselves will take most of that.

Better news is the possible appearance of German armour, that with the pyro we have russled up will definatly make at least one of the "battles" exciting.

A couple of items, we will be camping in the field we used last year, the ARC mobile and Saturday picture show will also be there. The small woods where the ARC was last year will be a strong hold, this will have to be captured/defended in some of the scenarios.
There will be fewer wooden bunkers this year, they all wernt used last year. We will put two or three together as a complex, that should make taking them out more interesting.

John Oxlade has some Axis weapons left for hire, he would appreciate it if you could contact him ASAP to arrange a weapon. hireandfire@hotmail.co.uk .

On your arrival, you will be greated by US MP's, Axis ones if any volenteers, you need to sign a disclaimer and pay your site fee then, please have the correct money with you. Weapons should be available on arrival.

Things are moving along nicely, we are having a recce run tommorow, 16th, and we will decide where everything will go.

We have obtained the pallets needed to make the bunkers and to be used as firewood.

John Oxlade is taking weapons orders until tommorow night, 16th, so get in there quick.

More intel as it comes.

Dave Allaway.
