The event looks impressive on pics. You guys are lucky with your gun laws ;) Some impressive sets of wheels too.

Looking through hundreds piccies taken during Beltring'09, I've came across just a few showing Wehrmacht units (as opposed to WSS ones). How many WH reenactors took part ?

If asked for the award of the event - I would give it to some Rangers squad, for their accurate impression of squad equipment and weapons... As opposed to the German side.

Dont get me wrong, I dont want to criticize anyone. Just got an impression that in 1944/45 Allies mostly fought against SS overcharged with tons of MP40s and all wearing a fancy camo.

Maybe its just a problem with me myself and my stupid feelings...

I think the majority of the action shots tend to feature auto weapons.
Probably easier to catch the mussle flash

In our arena battles, our W-SS Zug featured only 3 MP's among them.

Good point Mario :D

But speaking from the "SS" point of view we did all wear field grey's for the early 1940 battle
and speaking for myself i wore field-greys all the time i was there.

As for the use of blank firing MP40'S unfortunately unlike the rest of Europe our gun-laws are
very strict and most of us can only get blank firing machine-pistols as oppossed to rifles
where you need a licence and it is very difficult getting one in the UK.

I did bring my deact K98 but obviously couldn't take that on the battlefield the same as a lot
of other lads, we used them for display purposes, otherwise if everybody took their deact
rifles onto the battlefield there would just be a lot of clicking but no bangs, so basically we
in the UK can only use what's available and what we can get hold of unfortunately.

I hope this explanation has cleared up that misunderstanding.

Regards Peiper.
