New Midland based SS group possibilities

Post by peiper1944 »

Howdy
Am looking at the possibility of forming a new
SS group based in the Midlands area, while
I still will be with SGB for the larger shows,
unfortunately I cannot get to all the Southern
based ones so this way the group would do the
Midland / Northern area shows, the group would
be based on "Chinese parliament" type group
where there would be no "official" leader but
group run where everyone would get a say,

Basically just finding out any intrest, the group
would be free you would just need to get personal
insurance, if intrested drop me a PM, before
everyone says "oh no not another SS group" lol
as far as I know there are only 5 in existence in
the UK

The group would also be possibly the SS-Hohenstaufen,
reason being no one as far as I know portrays this Unit
in the UK so no toes would be trodden on lol :-)

Cheers Peiper

Normandy Arnhem Society do Hohenstaufen.

*edit*

just a little info for any prospective members, this is how Peiper thinks it is acceptable to behave towards other reenactors who disagree with him and called him out on his in-accuracies.

They have various group impressions as far as Im aware. Not a case of 2 or 3 doing this, and 2 or 3 doing that at the same show.

Fairplay only ive not seen them listed as an
"official" SS group or seen any of their members
on Axis forums, infact ive never heard of them.

Im going from the SS groups based in the UK list
basically you have Das Reich, SBG, KSK,
Kompagnie 1, Der Fuhrer and Axis-44 as far as I
can see who are listed as "official" SS groups

What deems a group as 'official'? If you've heard of them or not?

Im not arguing mate, just the fact ive never seen this group listed or anyone ever mentioning them
as a "bona fide" Waffen-SS group, basically all im trying to do is finding out any intrest in a new SS
group in the Midlands area as for reasons stated above

Also hopefully new members living in the same general area will get to know each other more instead
of living hundreds of miles away from each other, this way hopefully would generate more of a "kamerad-
schaft", in between events as well ;-)

Somebody was doing the Handschar I think
Halle, I used to have a portrayal of that Unit
but got rid of it, also German Mountain Units
are being done, I was looking for a basic type
SS Infantry Unit tbh, as the main ones are being
done (LSSAH, Das Reich, HJ)
