not sure about wood or metal but you could make it out of foam, know of similar paper built items that have been done using foam sheets, could always then coat it in fiberglass.

Andy, surely there are enough repro guns around that you can buy. For the time, effort and frustration in making your own, you could get a second/first job, earn enough money to buy an existing repro and know that it works, is right, and is available. I've spent lots of time making stuff at about £1 per hour labour.....albeit because they didn't exist a long time ago. But the point is, I wouldn't make stuff now, when it is abundantly, and reasonably available.

Just some thoughts on making stuff.

Hi Mike , I know what your saying mate I've made loads of bits . I wasn't thinking of selling replica FG42 s just making one . I cant afford a FG42 or a Shoie replica . I work part time after getting made redundant and then getting layed of . So money is tight . I am in no rush to get one so like you say get a second job and save may well be the best option mate .

Hi Jonathan . I made three of these for the group I was in at the time . I used my mates original G43 to produce some cast parts others were taken from my wooden paterns. The one in the picture is number 4 . I only have a few odds and ends left and with some scrounging I'm producing a K43 and a G41 w . After this I can no longer produce them as were I got the castings done and worked has closed down plus we have moved house and down sized loosing all our wood work machines :( . Also the agreement with the original gun owner was to produce these for the group as with out his kind help they couldn't be made . I'm sorry and wish I could make more .

been after a replica gun that a little different for a while for my fg impression, but there so darn expensive, other than buying a denix, may have to look into the paper idea a convert to foam or aomething similar, freind and I are building HALO ODST suits from a similar plan, he has even made a full scale version of the pistol just out of foam sheets, so it could be possible.
