We're thinking about emulating the field camp of GJ for a group.
First of all we decided we need bigger tent - therefore English Army 160lb tent is considered closest to original.
Then I read in MLRS Books' 'German mountain warfare' that GJ used special lightweight sleeping bags and mattresses. Any clue on how they looked like and where to see them as an example ?
Franz, have you got any idea ?

In a german page I've found that sleeping bag, he says it's WWII, and, if it is so, it could most probably be a GJ's one: http://kpemig.de/sess/utn;jsessionid=15 ... shopscript
I don't know if it is the right link but,if you search in http://www.kpemig.de under "schlafsack" you'll get the image.

Here some views of the Tent with stove
It is very warm at night with the stove going have to have some one awake at night to keep it going
SS-Untersturmführer Bärtig finds it keeps his red wine at the right temp as well

Yes, Mario. That's the one. It looks a bit like the BW ones. Unfurtunately, Emig leaves only one photo of the items he has already sold. I can try to ask him to send me more photos, if interested.

Have to say this type of sleeping bag was sold by Silverman's of London in the 1970 s, the bottom part was designed so it could open and you could move still wearing the bag. Loads of the troops bought these since they packed much smaller than the issue sleeping bag. if i remember correctly they were post war West German issue, bit hard to tell from the picture if this one is the same though.
The Silverman's ones were certainly Bundy and had a sort of quilted finish, the one in the photo does not appear to have that finish.
It may be that the post war ones were based on a war time design is there any dates etc stamped any where.
