How common were berghosen?
Is it like the situation with Brit paratroop trousers, there was a special pattern but most got the regular trousers?
I find it very hard to tell from photos.

It is hard to tell, because in late war the M42/43 Keilhose which looked similar to the Berghose.

Mit Vfg .v.24.6.1944 (HV 44 B,Nr253 ) trat die neueingefuehrte Rundbundhose (Feldhose M43) an die Stelle der Berghose.
The order of the 24th june 1944 the M42 Keilhose replaced the Berghose.
