Are you talking about the ones from Keith in Honkers?

I have seen these in the flesh and they are spot on bar the buttons. Nice material too.

I do like the Gebirgsjäger smocks. Were they really produced in all the camo patterns that the repro smocks are available in?

I thought it was only grey/white or tan &water/white. Anyone know for sure?

Regards

Yes there is original SS camo and tan and water out there but these were mainly Private Purchase to start with. There is talk that SS camo anoraks were made for Issue to troops but the numbers were very small thats why we dont see many of them in photos or even now

Ingo You seen to Have only read the first part of my post ,I will break it down into two parts for you
Yes there is original SS camo and tan and water out there but these were mainly Private Purchase to start with.
Thats the First part
There is talk that SS camo anoraks were made for Issue to troops but the numbers were very small thats why we dont see many of them in photos or even now
Like I said in the post that the numbers were small so not seen as a large scale issue the ones your friend has could be from were they were stored till a large number could be made for general issue to the troops.Of corse if they were Issued it it is odd that the 2 true germanic(6thNord 7th Prinz Eugen) SS Gebrigsjäger Divisions did not get them

Here is the order that stopped the Tarnjacke and the 3 pocket jackets.
99.Camouflaged drill uniform
To utillise front-line experience ,a camouflaged drill uniform consisting of
Drill blouse........Article No.B/40
Drill trousers......Article No.B/171
is introduced as a camouflage and working uniform.
On those drill blouses in the same cut as the cloth field blouse, the rank badges for items of clothing without shoulder straps (according to V.Bl.d.W.-ss.,Nr4 15 February 1943 Ziff.63.) are to be worn 0.5 cm under national emblem
Collar patches are not to be worn
Existing types of drill uniform as well as the camouflage jacket are to be discontinued.Existing stocks may be used up
SS-FHA/la
V.Bl.d.W.-SS.,Nr.5,1March 1944,Ziff.99
And here is the order that ends this thread before it descends into Ingo showing us his dick is bigger than Franz's!!!! Topic locked.
