I knew Gebirgs were given a "crash course" at a jump school at Stendal as they were needed to support the fallschirmjager operations in Norway, some even wearing the early double front zip jumpsmock when dropped into Norway (The Luftwaffe struggling for kit because of so many operations using Fallschirmjager early 1940).
