My Repro BERGMÜTZE

Post by gebirgs soldat »

I was at my local militaria swap meet today.. MONTY..the guy I commissioned to make me a BERGMÜTZE.. was there with my new cap! I had him make the visor extra short, and I wanted the top front not so high.. just like one I saw in a photograph of a book he had as reference. Full inside sweatband/liner.. fine doeskin wool as a private purchase cap might be..
He finished in two weeks!

It looks great! I haven't got the top wet to shape it.. but I've started the pinch.. still need to put an EDELWEISS on the side.. it fits perfect as well... I am very pleased.. WALT

The standard Army cap Edelweiss is approx. 60mm long x 40mm wide.
