That was a cracking event, need another hardcore event like that one That's me with my back to the camera holding the MP40 in the first photo.

It's been a while so I thought i'd update the thread with some pictures from our last couple of events.

June saw us turn out for our first taste of the Chalke Valley Festival of History. Our display focused on the weeks leading up to the battle of Voronezh in June of 1942. As part of the display we opted for a rest and refit theme, displaying a mortar section in training, munitions dump, Stabs and communications and the Feldkoch preparing sausage for the men.











Next up was our annual trip to the History Live event at Kelmarsh Hall. The group enjoyed it's biggest ever turnout with 28 members in attendance. Although the weather played havoc with our display on Saturday, we were able to put on a morning parade with almost 50 men alongside of kameraden from the Panzergrandiers and also formed up together for the daily battles, which looked...nice

Next up, we travel down to Damyns Hall this weekend where we look forward to putting on an Ostfront 1942 display with our counterparts from "Za Oboronu".

Once again a nice laid back show and it was good to have 'Za Oboronu' opposite us for the weekend to have the extra dimension of a Russian foe opposite us. We enjoyed crawling over your positions and looking for any State property that we could confiscate, thanks for allowing us the opportunity and for our new wash bowl





Next up a nice big joint display with 'Heeresgruppe Süd' at the Victory Show in early September.

Morning all,

I've finally managed to whittle down our Victory Show gallery to a reasonable amount and uploaded the pics to the site last night, so I thought i'd share a few teasers with you all.

This year the theme was Operation Zitadelle and thanks must go to our kameraden from the GD Panzergrenadiers, Das Reich, Generalstab and Panzergrenadier 916 who all worked hard to try a bring a little bit of Kursk to Leicestershire for the weekend

Great show as ever and the perfect end to the public season for us, the icing on the cake was the recent news that the display scooped best in show which is something we're all very proud of as us 'Germans' never win anything.

Just a couple more private things to do in November and that will be us for another year - how fast did that go!

He loves his new gun - I think he only just stopped smiling about the experience sometime last week.

After almost 10 years of faithful service our old domain of gdrecon.co.uk is being retired in favour of an address that we feel is better suited to the group in 2014 and beyond. The change over is now complete and our new domain is up and running.

The group turned out for it's final event of the 2014 season a couple of weeks back for some refresher training, our AGM and end of year wing ding.

Soldiers were trained on fire and manoeuvre, the use of the MG34 & 42, mortars, section attacks, parade, marching and rifle drill by the units Offizier's and NCO's.

Our unit Kriegsbrichter was also on hand in his studio for portraits.

And that signifies the end of another season.

A cracking year for the group which seemed to start earlier than ever way back in January. It's seen some major highlights of us such as reaching 40 members, winning the award for best display at the Victory Show and acquiring our second Aufklärungs vehicle - an Sd.Kfz.223 (F.u.) which will be our Winter project and hopefully be ready to show in Spring alongside our Sd.Kfz.222.










We have another project which is due to commence in January which will further compliment our Kraftpark and fleet of Aufklärungs Abt. vehicles, but more of that when it gets underway.

So thanks to everyone we've had the pleasure of working with this year (friends both old and new) and we look forward to doing it all again next year
