2/KP Panzer Grenadier Rgt Grossdeutschland

Post by Edelweise »

Welcome to GrossDeutschland, a UK based living history group, portraying the 2/KP Panzer Grenadier Rgt Groβdeutschland.

Our group is a nationally recognised re-enactment society, and we are affiliated members of both WARS (World War II Axis Re-enactment society) and AFRA (Axis Forces Re-enactment Association).

The group re-enacts as armoured infantry using our group's halftrack. We are always on the look out for new recruits to represent this elite German fighting unit of World War II.

The groups high standards have allowed us to work for such many prestigious organisations and venues including the Royal Armouries, English Heritage and The Victory show to name a but a few.

Our last event was "The Wartime Weekend" at Great Central Railways. For this event we portrayed troops encamped at a railway yard waiting to be loaded onto trucks for the frontline.

Well - after the OstFront Association's 48 Living History (KÖNIGSBERG 1945) Battle last weekend, 2nd Kompanie PanzerGrenadier Regiment GD have been hard at work.

The Unit is now equipped with the latest the Wehrmacht has to offer in educational technique and web-technology - with our continuously updated new website:

http://www.grossdeutschland.org/

The unit is now concentrating hard on preparing for its next engagement, as well as creating articles for E-learning.

Watch below a video of the KÖNIGSBERG SCHLACHT - Which relates to some of the conditions and experiences GD PanzerGrenadier's faced whilst fighting outside of Konigsberg in 1945.

Hi Bauer -

Thanks very much. We were looking out for you at the weekend but unfortunately you were unable to attend. We are looking forward to working with our brother's the Fusilier's at the next event - as the association strives towards maintaining some of the best standards in Re-enactment.

UPDATE in JUNE:

2nd Kompanie has been busy working behind the scenes for the past two months, although we've been slightly quiet on the event front, the group has entered a period of administrative reorganisation. We've therefore updated the website gallerys, our articles section and some practical facilities such as online registration.

We hope to be busy in the coming months with filming and attending shows accross the UK. So if your new to the hobby, or just fancy a change of scenery, visit the website and drop us a line -

More-so; collective responsibility. One person trying to run everything is just no fun. This way we all have fun, and the group runs more efficiently.
