Die Soldaten can find its origins in the PFRGD re-enactment group. Its members decided on a new direction for the group.
Instead of concentrating its group depiction on one historical unit it took a wider view to depict the common German Infantry Soldier from 1943-45. The German ‘Landser’ who formed the backbone of the German army (Heer). The men that were conscripted from all corners of Germany, fought for their country and died in their millions.
Die Soldaten carry on the values of PFRGD along with its high standards, passion for research and eye for detail into a variety of new impressions. You will see us at future events representing units such as German Infantry in Normandy, Volksgrenadier in the Ardennes as well as the GD Fusiliers on the eastern front.
As an infantry based group we concentre on the basic squad formations of the Heer, the Gruppe (section) and Zug (platoon). This incorporates the use of, and training in all standard infantry weapons, section weapons such as the MG42, support weapons such as the 8cm Mortar and anti-tank weapons. As well as this we also practice period field tactics, period camp life and the digging and preparation of field defences. All second nature to the German soldier of WWII.
We do not wish to represent the elite, the specialist trained soldier, the armoured vehicle units. Over 10 million men were in the German army, it is those men we want to represent As part of this new venture we are looking for new like minded members to the group.

Are you interested in stepping into the boots of a Panzergrenadier?

If so, it's not too late to become one of the 'Soldaten' in time for the forthcoming season. Whether you're already a reenactor or completely new to the hobby, there is a space for you within our ranks. We are constantly on the look-out for enthusiastic new recruits, who are interested in accurately representing the German soldier of the late-war period.

You will be taught how to live and fight using original manuals and German commands; and naturally one of the most important aspects is the 'Kameradschaft' between members. We pride ourselves on our approachability and the friendships we are able to develop through the hobby.

Members will get the chance to attend both enjoyable public shows and exciting private tactical exercises throughout the UK; as well as attached to our sister-groups in Europe, experiencing the real meaning of living history.

Our more experienced members will happily answer any questions, lend you any bits of equipment or uniform you are missing and point you in the right direction when it comes to investing in your own.

So if this sounds like the sort of thing for you and you'd like to try it out for an event, message this page and we will get back to you swiftly!

Pictures of the group from both Pipingford Park and Dover Castle can be found on our FB page.

Not enough camoflage and too many youngsters. Address these two issues and you'll go far....

 :D

Looking very good. If only one was 10....no make that 15 years younger!
