Our objective is to is to inform the public and fellow reenactors about the history of the Kriegsmarine.
Our main focus will be on U-89 a type VIIC boat which was part of the 9th Flotilla.
Through this, we hope to produce a reflective ,evidenced based and interactive study of the service life of the German Sailor.

"Das karbol Krankenschwestern "
"Ein langes langsames Nachmittag Schrauben"
Sorry Robbie I just had to "go for it" .
( Hope the on line translation is correct ...... fans of "Das Boot" will recognize the lines !)
At risk of being the "Morcambe and Wise" of the re enactment scene, this new venture is the brainchild of Robbie who asked if I would be join him in it.
As can be easily seen the Kgm is much more within my own comfort zone , we would like to thank Kev and U Boat Society for his (and their) help, advice and the benefit of their experience. Thank you gentlemen.
Without going into a lengthy preamble this is a small beginning, there is quite a bit to do and to get organised properly it will take a while.(Rome was not built in a day and we are not exactly "Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo" . )
The day to day life of the crews, the course of the war at sea (In the Atlantic) and interactions/ encounters between forces based on these shores (RAF Coastal and RN) will feature in what we want to achieve.
It is hoped that what we do will accurately reflect on the experiences of all concerned with the respect that is deserved.
What it is all about.

Re: New Kriegsmarine U-boat Living history Group
Wishing you guys all the best with your new group , Great to see such a interesting topic been reenacted in Ireland . Keep up the good work Rob and James .
Re: New Kriegsmarine U-boat Living history Group
Best of luck to you both, Robbie and Jim.
We have been invited to Northern Ireland on a number of occasions but for various reasons it never happened. However, now you have started a new Kriegsmarine group over there then I'm sure the invitations will be directed to you instead.
Well done indeed for starting off and if you need any help or advice, you are always welcome to contact me. The invitation also stands for a trip to the mainland if you ever want to come over here.
All the best and I wish you both every success.
Kev.
PS I have lots of links, info, etc, to pass on if you need them.
