Thanks kameraden for the info on the collar tabs. I hope to post a few pics of my impression once I get it finalised.
Thanks again.

Re: Division Wallonien
Hallo!
Thanks to our good old comrade Wallonien, I can post a picture of a Wallonier volunteer wearing the Burgundy cross on his collar tab. The legend says that some early volunteers wore the cross but it was quickly forbidden by the Germans.
Eric.

Re: Division Wallonien
We recently organized a common event with another WSS reenacting unit. As you can see, Kameradschaft was in the air!

Re: Division Wallonien
We just had our winter training. Weather was perfect for that: around -10 °C, plenty of snow and wind.
The idea this year was to build a well concealled position for MG crew in 2 hours, at night with only the normal Landser kit.
Big fun, a bit cold but great success.

Yes indeed: amongst other things we learned last year in Finland:Franz repper wrote:Kamerad great photos did you use any winter skills from our training ?
- start fire without paper
- choose of a rest position when enemy can follow your trace in the snow
- etc, ...
+ a few things about hiding fire smoke and digging position in snow from the pdf you sent us (Special Series n°18)

Re: Division Wallonien
Interesting photo from 1945 showing Degrelle with his men. The caption says:"The commander of the 28th Volunteer Panzergrenadier SS Division "Wallonie" Degrel Leon (Leon Degrelle) distributes cigarettes to his soldiers. Pomerania, the end of February 1945."
