New Heer Group
New Heer Group
This is to announce the formation of a new Heer group ,
"Die Alte Hasen".
We reenact the ordinary German soldier of WWII. The group is made up of ex members of KGK, and we hope to produce a reflective ,evidenced based and interactive study of the service life of the average German soldier.
We are independent thinking and are happy to communicate and co opertate with all serious and committed reenactors.

Good luck with the group mate.
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch.

Re: New Heer Group
I wish you all the luck in this good sirs !!
Re: New Heer Group
Any particular Regiment? Campaign? Late war? Mid War? Early War?
Nice to see diversity and progression - Sometimes it seems that the Emerald Isle is a microcosm of the Mainland - the same stages and metamorphoses but in a fraction of the timescale.
Good Luck and you know where we are if you need/want us.

Thankyou Franz , feelings are that this will work well.
HG - mid / late war will be the main "era of operations" , I will let "Panzerrob" (Robbie) fill you in on the divisional aspect.
As far as we are concerned "doing it right" is what it is all about , that and having a bit of cirac along the way.

Re: New Heer Group
We're still working out the finer details, but we will be doing mid to late war.
Re: New Heer Group
We are looking at protraying Infantrie Regiment 29, Infantrie Division 3.
Re: New Heer Group
Thankyou all
Re: New Heer Group
Ah! Now I see the link!
Curt Haase - Kommandeur - 3. Infanterie Division!!!!!! Alte Haase!!!!!
Nice one!
An excellent choice giving you the opportunity to portray Poland 1939, The Eifel 1939, Eifel, Maas & Rheims 1939-40, Le Creusot 1940 and Frankfurt/Oder in 1940 also.
Will you also be portraying 3. Infanterie Div (mot) for post 1940? IF you are be prepared to be destroyed in 43 at Stalingrad!!!!!!
You can of course go on to form 3. Panzergrenadier Division though which will please jumpwings Dray no end as they fought in Italy - Salerno, Anzio and Cassino - Then France south of Paris before retreating to the Saar and ending up after the ardennes in the Ruhr Pocket (chance to work with Windhund in that scenario)
Yup! I'd say you've chosen a brilliant, non elite unit that gives you loads of scope for loads of - as you say fact based impressions - and will provide you with variety and fresh interest for many seasons to come.
(and they had a doody divisional insignia!)

We chose Regiment 29 rather than grenadier or panzergrenadier 29, as we are few of the remaining survivors of the old 29th and still see ourselves in that way.
Re: New Heer Group
Ah! Clever! Hence Alte Hasen - clearly some thought HAS gone into this. Maybe this one will take up where the 272 Inf Div left off - That was a superb idea which seems to have gone dormant for the time being. Minimal kit - maximum accuracy. and DIRT!
Glück Ab!
