OK folks we have here two M1934 pyramidal squad tents that we are selling a reduced rate. I will tell you why in a moment but first let me give you some background on how it is to be the worlds leading supplier of authentic WW11 tents (sales talk).
When we bring new models to the market it is after a long, intensive and expensive time. As you know we have been lucky enough to of been able to use originals for all of the tents that we have produced. Even though you would think this is relatively straight forward it very rarely is.
There is a long process of R&D before we get to the end result that we want. This usually involves many samples having to be produced until we get the exact standard that we want, which is a perfect tent.
This often leads us to having samples here at Pathfinder HQ that are the first samples for us to check and OK the colour, thread count, weight and waterproofing. We then erect them and check that is all well too. Once we have the sample that we want we sign them off and they go into production.
Naturally we have samples here that are 100% perfect but may well be the wrong stitch count or the wrong weight of canvas and so on.
We actually have this case right now with the first of our pyramidal samples when we put those into development earlier in the year. With these two pyramidals we were working on the height of the wall – which is fine. Although these are fine they wall is a slighter different shade than then rest of the tent and the canvas is a slightly different weave.
Of course this makes no difference what so ever to the structure or the quality of the tent it is just the aesthetics of it. This can be solved by using dye and a paint brush or sprayer and spraying the canvas.
As you know the M-1934 squad tent is iconic and if you had seen ours or other groups at the W&P show these are simply a stunning tent, 100% practical and a real time travel tent. It will last you a life time and could well be the barging of the year as we only have two and they come with:
