Google Earth Incorrect

Post by Hoffman Grink »

I have just been searching Google Earth and have a startling revelation for you all.
The desert in the Ardennes is not there! It seems in an effort to prevent nazi worshipping souvenier hunters, Google Earth has omitted the famous battlefield as depicted in the movie "The Battle Of the Bulge"!!!!!

I am watching it on More4 at this moment and I have slowly come tot he realisation - IT NEEDS A REMAKE! I'S CRAP!!!!!!

Well bugger me sideways with a blunt loffel!!!!!

IMDB says it was filmed in the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range, Madrid, Spain. So I looked on Google Earth again - Another bloody lie!!!! There are no signs of any tank or vehicle carcasses - No tracks and no evidence of shell holes, positions, fuel dumps or anything!!!!

Someone is having us on I think..... time to petition some Hollywood studio for a remake wouldn't you agree?

fully agree. For info to Hollywood studio, we have had mountains in the Ardennes but it was a few millions years before WW2 and we have never heard about a desert here ;-)

Cos Paul Verhoeven is the touch of death !!!!

Would be nice if someone could get a well written screenplay accepted. One that had a good accurate storyline, some key moments, a strong anchor and a requirement for some CGI of accurate armour and renditions of the battles.......

Now if only Johnny Oddball weren't a guerrila film maker and was a "bit more mainstream".......

Saints and Sinners is a good start, but forgive me if I am wrong, even in that film there were lots of inaccuracies, like the mountains in the background. I cannot Recollect there being snow-topped mountains in the Ardennes?? :?
It's not real... it's called re-enacting!

Battle of the bulge you have to watch it to remind yourself how bad it is
