Tiger 1 Kampfgruppe StahlKrieger would like to announce that it is rebranding the group name as simply Kampfgruppe StahlKrieger due to Mick Hodgkinson deciding to leave the group and strike out on his own. I’d like to thank Mick for everything he did whilst he was part of us. His contribution cannot be underestimated.

The website name has also changed to reflect this and the URL is now; http://www.stahlkrieger.co.uk. Please can any of you webmasters out there who have us on your groups’ website links page please change it to reflect? (Although anyone clicking onto the old site will be automatically redirected)

The basic aims and dynamics of the group remain exactly the same as does the original core portrayal SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 1 II.Bataillon 6.Kompanie “Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler". Our other portrayals continue to offer sections comprising; LAH Feldgendarmerie, Pionier-Kompanie and Sanitärs-Kompanie with attached Deutsches Rotes Kreuzs Helferin, HJ/BDM and new for 2009 our Aufklärungs-Kompanie which has come into fruition thanks to the arrival of the new build SdKfz 222. We still remain independent of re-enactment associations and umbrella organisations although recognise the benefits that others may derive from joining such parties.

Yes, we have lost the Tiger but we have another new build tracked armour project underway which we will be unveiling at this years War and Peace show. A tracked armoured vehicle owner has also very recently joined the group and his contribution will complement the other non armoured vehicles that the group already has. The group continues to expand its membership base and we now have 30 members. Our exacting standards will be upheld and we will continue to display at the same high level for which we have become well known for.

Personally, thanks go to all members for getting behind me during this transitional phase. From the whole group, thanks go to event organisers and other groups who continue to either provide events for us to attend or support us through the brotherhood that is WWII re-enacting. We look forward to meeting you all out there in this our 4th year as a group.
