Formed from renamed I./Pz.Rgt.202 on 5 Jan 43 with three beutepanzer Kp. Served in the Balkans from Jan to Mar 43. Was with 22 Mtn Corps. in Hungary in Mar 44. Was transferred back to the Balkans by May 44. Ordered to convert to Italian panzers on 14 Feb 44.

Equipped with italian M15/42 and M13/40 tanks, Da 75/18 SPG; french S35 and H39; Jagdpanzer 38(t) "Hetzer" and another military equipme

I wonder why the M15 tanks have a russian star under the german marking? :roll:

The stars are not 'under' - those were painted OVER the german markings.

The guard on one photo tells it all - the tanks were captured by the Soviets and marked to avoid friendly fire. Suggests the tanks were caught intact and maybe planned to be put into use.
