I have got a Janke M44 tunic. The short tunic in the late war brown (mine is the colour of dried mustard)
I can do pictures, but will take some time.
The quality of the material is very good for late war, perhaps a bit too good for the time. Craftsmanship is great! Very nice to wear in normal life, if not on duty. One difference to originals is, that the sewing from the corner of the pocket to the armhole is missing. Apart from that I think its close to the original.
I have the trousers as well, but I am not the specialist to know any differences from the original. Should be a perfect copy in my eyes.
I have ordered the 1944 uniform about 2 years ago and at the time I was told, that Janke is not ordering any more material in that colour because he is close to retiring. I have a M43 SS as well, the only tunic with the TWO-HOLES for the belt hook. The material for that tunic is a bit coarse, but I love it.
Its not the perfect tunic, which sells as original after a few years of reenactment (I have mentioned the mistake in the cut), but in my eyes as close to the original as currently on offer.
Perhaps you can ask to do the cut in the correct way, then it would be perfect!

he also uses original plans to make uniforms in sizes that are from extra short to extra long. Haven't personally seen these plans but I know where he got them from, unfortunately they are not cheap either, but then you have to pay for quality and originality.

This is not a mistake. M44 tunics were simplified in many aspects - one of them is the lack of the chest darts you find in former field blouses.
I would also be interested to see some pics of the jacket - and the trousers...

Not heard this from james brown, who is his main dealer in the uk.

had an email from James Brown, Janke has not yet retired, however the problem may be the quantity of cloth that has to be ordered and if there is little demand for it, its unlikely that he will order new cloth.

So lets try to upload some pictures. Havent done that before, so lets see!
The tunic is without insignia, I had sewn some insignia on, but have taken it off again, because I am wearing the tunic what "off duty"

... and another 2 images. I am reenacting and need a tunic in my size. I think the Janke M44 really is the best on the market (material, cut, craftsmanship) and if I have worn it out, I will sell it on a large online auction website as original ; - )

Thanks for the pics!
It is exactly the same jacket-type I had in my hands at WBK Kassel at Mr. Janke's stand some years ago.
What I absolutely dislike is the wool fabric - has nothing to do with real late war fieldgrey 44 wool.
And the ugly red-brown artificial silk lining as in many Asia repro blouses...
I had many M44 repros (LB, Antz, Gavin, Sturm, and other no-name Asian repros...) and I would say the ANTZ repro in late war wool is the best repro on the market.

Fritz is right , that material is awful ! :o Nothing like the rough , late war wool , it looks like its mixed with nylon ...

Wow, that material looks terrible! I'd take Ant-Z's over that...

Unfortunately ANTZ isn't on the market though.
Chen hasn't been in business for years now though yes his late war 44 was a good tunic. A few vendors still have a couple of his old stock in a few models but they're mostly kiddo or big boy sizes.
I hate to say it too but I can't really rate this tunic from the pics posted.
For me the best at present is Gavins - you just have to remember to order one size up and be prepared to wait a month or so for delivery.

Gavin's M44 is not bad - but you have to rework the button closure at the sleeve ends.
