DOT 44 CAMO SS TUNICS?

Post by sniperK98 »

Hello all,

I'm after a dot 44 camo tunic, mainly for display purposes for original awards etc, worn occasionally maybe. Thing is that I'm after something good quality and true to an original, but without the (what seems hefty, maybe not) ATF or SMW price tags, or is this just not possible?

I'm looking to be spending £60-80 kind of area on one, and have found this one below, but with no indication as to who it's made by, as from reading around on here and other sites, many stockists sell gear from other stockists and makers and so on...

Hopefully someone can clear this up a bit for me, much appreciated.

Many thanks

I have a SMW set and it's very good but Gavin militaria seem to do a nice copy, although I haven't seen it up close.

Soldier of Fortune have the light tone SMW ones on sale atm:

I'm sure there was a comparison of 44 Dot on here a while ago, might be worth a search.

Thanks Tommy, I'll check the links out and do a search. Regarding the "light tone" SMW version on SoF, is it correct? I don't suppose anyone has pics of another because the pics of it on the SoF site don't appear to be the best! Many thanks again

There is an interesting page on the ATF website regarding "44 Dot" and shows this photo of the variety of colours encountered.

So I guess you can say it's correct but whether it was widely issued is anyone's guess. I couldn't convince myself to like it so went for the dark tone.

The ATF tunics are hardly 'hefty' on the price? $75 is less than £50. Shipping cost is the issue from there I guess.
