German Parka Sizes

Hey guys, I was wondering what the average size of a early version mouse grey winter parka was. I'm attempting to buy one but there is such a size discrepancy from website to website when labeled by small medium large. In USA sizes, I'm usually a size 42 chest which is usually a Large. Are these parkas supposed to be very baggy and oversized? What was common?

I'm having trouble deciding the size from this chart.

Chest size
M 46
L 48

Would a really baggy large look ok? Or a medium? I am comparing this to my usual size 42 measurement
