When did these show up? Many books about Luftwaffe uniforms don't mention therm, places like Lost Battalions don't list them as being made by them for sale, and yet, I think they existed. First I saw a photo of belted trousers with tapered lower legs, with a foot strap for sale on a militaria site (though to be sure, they could be faked) and secondly, Christian frmm Luft. Supplies, who I trust, thought the WL started making them around 1940 . Certainly I think belted trousers would be a bit easier for air crew to tolerate, and it would seem as an added benefit, to use less material in their manufacturing.

Any thoughts, or dated originals out there?
