Original surviving examples? Could you please point out which books? I have seen some examples stating that it was original but turned out to be either Swiss (much to red) or Belgian, which is very, very close, plus the Belgian copy is very faded, so any German original would also be faded I assume so how can we properly compare the true colours as if it was new? Not trying to start anything here, just asking if anyone can provide solutions to these problems.

Yes apparantly the reason for the close comparison was that the guy who "invented"
the Leiber defected to Switzerland at the end of the War where his talents were put to
the disposal of the Swiss lol

Yes that was the pic "Gottmittuns205", the version i saw the guy with bandaged head was
pointing and the guy on the bike was squinting in that direction, also the pic was taken
at a distance so you could see both men in full length and as far as i could remember the
pic was taken in a street with houses behind, it seems there was a series of pics of this
particular scene

I have said book in my hand, there are no photos of Leibermuster in there at all. The other book in the series (one for the waffen ss) has a photo of Leibermuster...but it's extremely faded.

Hmm...the version displayed there looks closer to the Belgian version than a German cut...looking at the cuffs of the sleeves.

Spearhead is the closest you will get. The Parka is pretty dope, as is the tunic. The Trousers are 1945 cut so not so baggy as the rest...good stuff I can't wait to get dirty and fade it.

I'm not stupid mate, I know it wasn't widely issued.

I'm going to fade it, drag it in the mud, and see where it stands. Should do something for it. Good kit though I do like it.

Entering the world of Leibermuster is a world of uncharted waters.

This is day one of a heavy weathering process to "darken" the pattern.

I do admit Barry's is a bit bright, but with appropriate age...I think it can be done.

Shit just got real. SMW e-mailed me back, they are reproducing Leiber with correct coloring.
