Afternoon,
Can anyone shed some light on the colouring system of signal whistle lanyards?
Kind Regards,

Re: Signal Whistle Lanyard Colour
Most of the war time whistles were green, different shades existed. Prewar to early war were often brown in colour. I've heard red and white existed, but have yet to see an original one.

Re: Signal Whistle Lanyard Colour
The lanyard on my original whistle is black. I was always led to believe black was for SS and Police.

There is an original colour picture of an infantry officer with a red whistle lanyard if I remember correctly, I had also read that it was down to personal choice.
