Who makes the best tunics nowadays,

Post by sparky »

Ok can of worms time,
I'm looking to upgrade my tunic and trousers, standard field grey m36 type ss cut
My first choice would have been "at the front", due to the correct pattern and oversized collar for ss runes as done originally, but they no longer do texled and aren't likely to for a while according to an email from the owner.
So now where?
Ideally I don't want a sturm tunic that just about everyone supplies, so any ideas?
Money is not an obstacle I don't mind paying for a custom one off etc.

ATF actually posted that they are accepting new orders for texleds just the other week!

I'm very tempted to get both an heer, and an SS tunic, just need to win the lottery first ;)

I would see if ATF will make you one. I have two, no regrets.

I've got an old stock On The March tunic that ATF sold for some time - excellent.

Once the knap on the wool starts to wear off, they are really convincing.

I'd recommend either ATF or OTM.

Re a tunic

I know the words 'made in China' brings a shiver....but have a look at the new range of 'Hiki's thick wool made tunics 'improved special ' or some other wording he uses....what caught my eye was the correct 'bright' stitching used on these tunics.or you could get a nice Janke tunic....from Bill Bureau in the US, as I did again recently.

What is a M36 S.S. cut tunic? Those do not exist.

OTM or ATF are good. Or just tailor a Sturm. Nothing wrong with their material.

For those who haven't read it, this is a pretty interesting thread started by Rollin himself on early SS cut uniforms.
