M44 pants cuff

I have never seen / touched a real or a repro pair of the German M44 pants, and i have a question regarding the cuffs. how do the ankle tightening work on these ? Is the white cloth pulled until another button hole further in and secured with the button ?

that s right. the withe tape has button hole next to button hole , so you can fit it to size you want.
